The best way to organize your photo Mess

Photographs give you a chance to capture precious moments for all eternity. The most difficult part is not made to take pictures, however, it manages the growing collection of digital photos, more like weeds or wild bamboo running. I cultivated the chaos of the photo using this method.

Upload photos.It is the first and most important step. As the dishes or laundry, if don't regularly copy you or move your pictures to your computer, they accumulate and you'll never have them organize. Regularly upload photos when you come home a trip or any other event, move the photos on your computer the first free minute you get.

I use Picasa to import photos from the SD card. The import tool puts photos in folders named by the date that the photo was taken or the date of the day. I reorder photos files once they are imported.

If you use Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive, put pictures to automatically save in one of your folders on these services; mobile apps to automatically save photos from your phone.

The Wi - Fi camera cards are another option to back up your photos automatically from your camera, but they are more expensive.

The value of your higher level for photos folders.Under your pictures folder or wherever you store your photos, set a record by year and month (put first year therefore the folder sorts correctly and use two digits for the month). For example, the record of this month is named 2014-06.

Under the year-month folder, create subfolders for specific events with the date of the event in the name of the folder. For example, '07 birthday dinner"or"travel from 7.15 to DC"(for multi-day events).

Finally, under the event folder, create two folders, one called 'Original' for the photos that you have not touched, and another called 'Edition', for those you have touched up and shared. It looks like this:

If your photos are not linked to a specific event, store them directly under the folder of the month or create a folder which captures photos or other.

This structure helps you find and place your important photos easily by using the date and the event.

Delete unnecessary photos.I know, I know. It's hard to go through all these photos and pressing the delete key on some of them. But it will display other photos, selecting those to print or turn into photo albums and enjoy otherwise easier later on.

It is therefore my system, which is much improved on my former just dumping under the photos folder and call it a day. What's yours?
